Dumfries Convent On Fire For Second Time In 7 Months

Emergency Services are dealing with a fire at the Old Convent in Dumfries. The 2nd Major fire in 7 months at the former St Benedicts Convent, Corberry Hill, Dumfries. 

The fire was reported at around 7.30pm this evening.

Stuart McNeil of 33 Air Solutions, who is at the scene stated ” What was left of the main building of the 138 year old convent is currently up in flames”


Local police have stated “Avoid the area and do not block roads with your vehicles in the surrounding area. Emergency vehicles will require access to ALL surrounding streets. Stay Away. Stay Safe.”
