Cinderella – Easterbrook Hall, Dumfries Dates from 14th – 23rd December
Panto season kicks off in Dumfries this week as Cinderella heads to the stunning venue of Easterbrook Hall on the Crichton site.
The Raging Gibbon Collective are back to offer festive greetings in the shape of their personal rendition of Cinderella, the nation’s favourite fairy-tale.
Written and directed by Rik Thorpe and Grant Dinwoodie and produced by Sandy Sweetman, the team that brought the hugely successful Peter Pan to Easterbrook last year, the story of Cinderella has a long history dating back to at least 1634 when Giambattista Basile published his version in Naples, Italy.
“We have combined traditional pantomime with the dark morality of the Brothers Grimm story wrapped up in our own warm blanket of silliness” comments Rik. “We hope you enjoy watching it as much as we have enjoyed making it – which is a lot”.
