INTRUDER ESCAPES WITH CASH FROM HOME OF KIRTLEBRIDGE PENSIONER

Police Scotland is investigating a report by a 79 year old woman in Kirtlebridge near Lockerbie, Dumfries and Galloway of having found a man in her home late on the evening of Tuesday 7 November 2017.

The lady was in her home in the Quarry Park area when she discovered the man in her living room. The man fled on being discovered and made good his escape, but not before stealing a sum of money. A vehicle with a loud exhaust system was heard leaving from outside the house which appears to have headed onto the motorway.

Constable Natalie Wilson said “It appears that a number of neighbours may have had someone sneaking about their properties on Tuesday night between 2300 hours and 2330 hours in this area. The man who was found in the elderly ladies home is only described as being young, slim, with a dark complexion and was wearing either a hat or a hood. We are appealing to anyone who may have been in the area or who might have any information about this to call us at Annan on the 101 number. This was a frightening experience for this lady and we are determined to catch whoever is responsible.”
