LOCAL COUNCILLOR PRESENTS CHARITY CHEQUES ON BEHALF OF ANNAN ROYAL BRITISH LEGION

ARCHIE DRYBRUGH PRESENTS CHEQUES TO LOCAL CHARITIES

This past week, Archie Dryburgh, Councillor for Annandale East and Eskdale, took part in the presentation of cheques to two local charities.

Mr Dryburgh organised the presentation of the cheques on behalf of the Annan branch of the Royal British Legion. Joining Councillor Dryburgh was Neil MacIntyre (the branch chair) and Donald Irving (branch secretary).  One cheque was presented to Mark Frankland, receiving it on behalf of First Base Agency, which offers support to a number of people including veterans.  The second cheque was presented to Jennifer Tobin, who was representing South West Scotland RnR, which provides much needed and appreciated holidays in Dumfries and Galloway for ex-service men and women as while as soldiers injured while on active service in Afghanistan and elsewhere.

Councillor Archie Dryburgh, who is Dumfries and Galloway Council’s Armed Forces Champion, said:

“I am delighted to have been able organise these presentations. Both of these charities do excellent work.  With more and more troops returning home, we need the services that these charities offer.  We in the Royal British Legion will continue to support their work in any we can.”
