Open Day ahead of new homes in Castle Douglas

Loreburn Housing Association will be opening the doors to its Scott’s Way development in Castle Douglas on Monday, 13th November to give an opportunity for new and prospective residents to view the development and accommodation on offer.

The development, which comprises a total of 23 new homes and a range of one and two bedroom flats, will be a Later Living development, forming part of the social landlord’s accommodation and services to people over the age of 55.

Heather Dorling, Later Living Team Manager at Loreburn commented: “Most of the homes are allocated but we’re welcoming the local community and particularly, anyone who meets the age criteria who might be thinking about a move to come along and have a look.”

The new homes are all fully accessible with superior space standards and modern facilities, including walk in showers, fitted kitchens, central heating and communal space for social opportunities.

Outside space offers ample parking and a communal courtyard with drying facilities and landscaped gardens”.

Heather added “The nature of our Later Living services means there will be a regular staff presence at the building helping to maintain that sense of safety and security that we know is important.

Technology will also be in place to support people to maintain their independence”.

“Scott’s Way will be an incredible resource for the community of Castle Douglas and we want to provide as much advice and information about how we can help anyone thinking of a move to more manageable accommodation easy and stress free”.
