LOCAL MP David Mundell officially opening the new High Street banking hub at Annan recently.
The facility, which includes an extra cashline machine for the town, allows customers of most major banks to carry out cash transactions and certain other face-to-face services.
There are also regular visits from community bankers from major banks, including Royal Bank, Bank of Scotland and Barclays.
The facility is operated by the Post Office on behalf of Cash Access UK and follows bank closures across Annandale and Eskdale and nationally.
Mr Mundell said he welcomed the development whilst expressing the aspiration that banking services could be improved across his wide rural Dumfriesshire, Clydesdale and Tweeddale constituency.
Other guests included Brenda Waugh, Annan Citizens Advice Service manager, and Annan Community Council’s newly-appointed chairman Neil Carruthers.
