Multiple Emergency Services Involved In Missing Person Search Loch Ken

Emergency services are continuing a search of a loch in Dumfries and Galloway following reports of a man getting into trouble in the water. Police were alerted to the incident at Loch Ken at about 16:45 BST on Sunday. Scottish Fire and Rescue Service, Nith Inshore Rescue and the coastguard joined police officers at the site next to Loch Ken Holiday Park, near Castle Douglas. Police Scotland said a search was carried out with no result. "Further searches will take place over the coming days," they added. The fire service said it sent two water rescue teams and two appliances to the scene.

Multiple Emergency services are currently involved in a major Missing person search at Loch Ken in Dumfries and Galloway after receiving reports of a person struggling in the water.

Police were notified about incident at Loch Ken on Sunday the 18th of June, at around 5.00pm in the afternoon. Along with Police Scotland a multi agency search including teams from Nith Inshore Rescue, Water Rescue teams from Scottish Fire and Rescue and the HM Coastguard joined police officers at the site next to Loch Ken Holiday Park, near Castle Douglas.

It is reported that so far no-one has been found, and the search is set to continue today.
