OVER 3000 EXPECTED TO ATTEND FREE FIREWORKS DISPLAY

Huge crowds are expected to enjoy the 2016 FREE fire works display to be held at Dumfries Whitesands this coming weekend.

This year the People’s Project and the Rotary Club of Dumfries Devorgilla are organising a  public fireworks display to be held at 6pm on Sunday 6 November on the Mill Green/Whitesands, Dumfries. This is a free community event and will be the only large organised public firework display in the Dumfries area.

The Event is being organised in a partnership between the Rotary Club of Dumfries Devorgilla and the People’s Project.  It is hoped the event will attract as many people as possible to come along and enjoy a truly high quality professional display which is free of the risks of “fireworks in the back garden”.

The event has been excellently supported by many local businesses and organisations providing assistance to allow such a major event to take place. Main sponsorship has gratefully been received from BDS Digital, Loreburn Housing Association, Hardie Engineering Ltd, Asher Associates Ltd, McGowan Miller, The Spar, The Crichton Trust, J G Findlay and Murray Farmcare, along also with help from Alba Printers, Border Signs and Graphics, Community Payback, DGWGO  and the local businesses on the Whitesands.

Entry to the event will be free and a ‘bucket’ collection will be made by the Rotary Club with all proceeds going to support the Cash for Kids charity and other local good causes.

It is anticipated that over 3,000 local people will attend and this should provide an excellent evenings entertainment for all attending.
