Police Appeal for Witnesses to Racial Abuse Incident Involving Children on Dumfries to Carlisle Train

British Transport Police detectives are seeking witnesses to an incident of racial abuse that occurred on a train between Carlisle and Dumfries. The incident took place on Saturday, October 14, 2023, at approximately 5:30 pm.

The victims of the abuse were three children, aged between 10 and 15, who were subjected to racial abuse by four white men, all believed to be in their sixties.

The first individual involved in the incident is described as approximately 5ft8 tall, with fair hair and was wearing a pink top. The second person had white hair and was dressed in a red t-shirt and a blue jacket. The third person was identified by white hair, a white moustache, and attire consisting of a white t-shirt and a light green jacket. The fourth individual, who was part of the group, had white hair, and their outfit included glasses, a flat cap, a blue jumper, and a blue jacket.

British Transport Police are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the incident or can provide information to aid the investigation.
