Police Continue Enquiries Into Spate Of Thefts In Annan

POLICE Officers are continuing to follow positive lines of enquiry following a number of suspicious incidents and thefts in Annan, Dumfries and Galloway overnight Tuesday 21/Wednesday 22 August 2018.

Following reports of a prowler in the Kennels Road, Fruids Park Avenue and Hecklegirth areas in the early hours of Wednesday morning, officers are now investigating two further thefts in the town. Sometime around 9pm on Tuesday night a house in Scott’s Street was entered and a wallet containing cash and credit cards was stolen. In another theft, a purse was stolen from a house in Bruce Street later on that evening.

Constable Scott Lissett at Annan said “the description we have in relation to the man we want to speak to regarding these incidents is that he is in his 20s, very slim build, around 5’6″ tall and was wearing a dark coloured hooded top and grey tracksuit or jogging bottoms. We want to hear from anyone who may also have had any unwanted intruders or prowlers over the past few days in Annan and who haven’t yet reported anything.
