POLICE INVESTIGATE SPATE OF CAR VANDALISM IN DUMFRIES

Police Scotland officers in Dumfries are investigating a spate of vandalisms to cars across the town sometime overnight Thursday 3/Friday 4 March 2016. A black Vauxhall Corsa parked at Little Italy in Moffat Road had a window smashed; a black Audi A3 parked on Newall Terrace had the paintwork scratched; a blue Nissan Micra parked in Terregles Road had a window smashed and a silver Ford Ka parked in Corberry Avenue had a window smashed.

Constable Keith McKinnell at Dumfries said ” we are keeping an open mind at this stage as to whether or not these acts of vandalism are related as they appear to have taken place across the town. We also have a report of an attempt to smash a car window in Lincluden Road at around 0330 hours on Thursday morning. A male, medium build, dressed in black and wearing a baseball cap was seen at this time. Anyone who can help catch those responsible should call us at Dumfries on 101.”
