POLICE PROBE SPATE OF BREAK-INS IN STEWARTRY AREA

Police Scotland officers in the Stewartry are investigating a number of housebreakings.

In the first one, a house in Mount Pleasant Avenue in Kirkcudbright was broken into sometime between 1500 hours on Sunday 6 and 1830 hours on Monday 7 December 2015. A small amount of money and some jewellery was stolen in the raid.

In Castle Douglas, overnight Monday 7/Tuesday 8 December 2015, two business premises were broken into. The premises of Watts Motors in Station Yard Industrial Estate in the town were broken into and a large quantity of cash and a Mactools code reader valued at £300 stolen.

In another break-in, at the premises of P and A Motors in New Market Street in the town were violated and Snap-On Modus diagnostic machine valued at around £5000 was stolen.

Constable Lindsey Tait at Castle Douglas said “we are appealing for anyone who may have seen or heard anything suspicious to get in touch with us at Castle Douglas or Kirkcudbright through the 101 number if they can help.”
