POLICE PROBE SUSPICIOUS LOCHARBRIGGS FIRE

Police Scotland is investigating a fire which was reported at a greenhouse at a house in Akers Avenue in Locharbriggs, Dumfries. The Fire and Rescue Service attended the fire at around 2135 hours on Sunday 6 March 2016 and extinguished it. The greenhouse, a set of tyres and garden tools were destroyed in the fire.

Constable Allister Queen at Dumfries said “at this point we are unable to say how this fire started and are treating it as suspicious at this time. We are appealing for anyone who may have seen or heard anything suspicious in the Akers Avenue area of Locharbriggs last night to get in touch with us through the 101 number. The value of the property damaged runs into hundreds of pounds.
