POLICE SEIZE DRUGS WORTH £40,000 NEAR EAGLESFIELD

Drugs with an estimated and potential street value of £40 000 (forty thousand pounds) have been seized by traffic police from Lockerbie Trunk Road Patrol Group.

At around 1620 hours on 6 January 2016, officers stopped a car on the A74(M) near junction 20, Eaglesfield and discovered the drugs, believed to be herbal cannabis, within.

Two men, aged 38 and 36, have been arrested and are presently detained in police custody in connection with the find.

A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
