Scottish Power Staff Raise £10 Million For Cancer Research UK

Galloway and West Dumfries MSP Finlay Carson has hailed Scottish Power staff for raising £10 million for Cancer Research UK.

 

Mr Carson attended a dinner last week to mark the milestone reached by Scottish Power after they launched a three-year partnership with the charity in 2012, with the aim of raising £5 million.  This target was met within just two years and the Company reached the £10 million mark after extending the partnership in 2015.

 

The MSP said:

 

“It is a fantastic achievement to raise £10 million and I commend Scottish Power staff on such an amazing effort.

 

“Cancer Research UK is an organisation that is close to my own heart and I know that it is a charity that many people donate to in various way.

 

“Their work to fund pioneering research into the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of Cancer is world-class and the campaign activities that they run to raise awareness of the disease is supported in local communities the length and breadth of the Country.

 

“I was delighted to attend the dinner to congratulate the staff personally on their success and I would like to take this opportunity to wish them well with their future fundraising endeavours”.
