POLICE CONCERNED OVER SPATE OF VEHICLE VANDALISM IN DUMFRIES

Police Scotland officers in Dumfries continue to receive more reports of vandalisms to vehicles in the town over the past few days. Overnight Thursday 17/Friday/18 March 2016 a blue coloured Vauxhall Astra car parked in Criffel Road had a window smashed, a silver Vauxhall Corsa car in Dunlop Road had a window smashed, a black Renault Clio in Lochside Road had a window smashed and a red VW Polo parked in Princess Walk had a window smashed. Overnight Saturday 18/Sunday 19 March 2016 a black Renault Clio parked in Afton Drive had a wing mirror smashed and a works van parked in Keswick Place had a mirror smashed.

Constable Bruce Kemp in Dumfries said “the damage caused to these vehicles is not minor and the costs will run into many hundreds of pounds, not to mention the inconvenience and trauma being suffered by the victims. We are carrying out extensive investigations into what appears to be an ongoing spate of vandalisms in Dumfries over recent weeks and would ask that anyone who has any information which might help us catch those responsible call us on 101.
