Ward 16 Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary closed this afternoon to admissions, transfers and routine visiting as a precautionary measure due to a suspected outbreak of diarrhoea and vomiting.
6 patients have been affected with symptoms clinically consistent with Norovirus. An outbreak control team will review the situation tomorrow morning and in the meantime would like to thank the public for their support with control measures.
