The 2019 BBC Countryfile Awards is your chance to celebrate the best of the British countryside by voting in the 10 differnt categories, and this year Dumfries and Galloway has 2 nominations.
A spokes person for Countryfile Magazine said “Back in autumn 2018, we asked for your nominations – and you sent us some brilliant ideas for every category. These were then whittled down by an expert panel of judges to create the shortlist.”
Dumfries and Galloway has been included in the shortlist for ‘Best Holiday Destination’, and the coastal village of Drummore in wigtownshire has been shortlisted in ‘The Best Village’ section.
Voting for the BBC Countryfile Magazine Awards will opened on Friday 18th January and close before midnight on Sunday 17th February 2019.

Reader nominations
Reader nominations were gathered from BBC Countryfile Magazine readers online and via a form in the print magazine.
Judging
A panel of six judges examined the nominations and whittled them down to a shortlist of five in each category. The judges assessed the quality of the nominations against a series of criteria.
Readers vote online or via a postal form in the print magazine. Voting closes on Sunday 17th February at 11:59pm.
