Real Cider Award For The Blue Bell Inn – Annan

Local CAMRA Cider Pub of the Year competition

Spokesperson for the local CAMRA group, Alan Gass explains “There’s only a handful of local pubs selling real cider in our area and we hope to encourage more and promote healthy competition to win awards in our annual competition.” Following discussions at a recent meeting of the Dumfries and Galloway branch, the following pub was selected for our first ever Real Cider award:

Winner –  Dumfries & Stewartry Real Cider Pub of the Year 2017:

                                        The Blue Bell Inn, Annan

The Blue Bell went into further heats to find CAMRA`s National Cider Pub of the Year 2017, and was awarded a certificate as one of two runners-up in Scotland.

The Scottish Real Cider Pub of the Year 2017 is The Pitcairngreen Inn in Tayside Region.

Dumfries & Stewartry Overall Winner and Scottish Runners-up presentation took place during the annual May Cider festival at the Blue Bell Inn, Annan on Sunday 28th May 2017.

Michael Lindsay and Charmaine Kerr are presented with the awards by Phil Robinson (right) and Andrew Emmerson (Cider Rep) (left) from the local CAMRA Branch.

Also shown – their Dumfriesshire Area Winners award as Pub of The Year 2017.
