8 PUB GIGATHON SET TO HIT DUMFRIES THIS SATURDAY IN AID OF MENINGITIS RESEARCH

On Saturday 21st May 2016, well-known local musicians David Bass, Grant Dinwoodie and Sandy Sweetman will be taking part in a charity gigathon, playing 8 gigs in the one day. They are all part of the “Muddy Suckers” team who are currently in training for this year’s Tough Mudder and they hope that taking part in both events will raise some much needed funds for Meningitis Research.

They will be using a portable PA, and will be accompanied by a glamourous entourage who will collect money throughout the day.

David Bass explained, “I thought it was a great way of raising money and awareness for this charity and different enough to get people’s attention – but above all, it’s going to great fun. The venues we picked have always supported live music in Dumfries so we thought it would be nice to return the favour.”

They will play 20/30 minute sets at each venue before moving on. “We are hoping to pick up people on the way and end up with a big jam at The Queen Of The South Bar”, he says.

The band will be playing at the following venues:

1pm The Stove
2pm Tam O Shanter
3pm The Globe
4pm Slipstream
5pm The Ship
6pm The Coach And Horses
7pm New Bazaar
8pm Queen Of The South Bar

You can donate to the band on the day, or online via their Tough Mudder JustGiving Page.
