Scottish indie-rockers We Were Promised Jetpacks have now been confirmed as the special guest at this summer’s Electric Fields, as well as being the final band to be added to the bill. Having more recently played The Venue in Dumfries,1 a 1 a Electric Fields poster the Edinburgh-based quartet have been busy recording their album for release on Fat Cat Records in one of Glasgow’s finest studios, Chem 19, with Paul Savage at the production helm. The Electric Fields date fits in before a full scale UK & Euro September/October tour. No doubt their set at EF will include a mix of new material and some classics songs from their amazing albums ‘In The Pit Of The Stomach’ and ‘These Four Walls’.

Electric Fields booker Chay Woodman said “We’ve been waiting ages to announce We Were Promised Jetpacks. They’re the last band to be added to the line-up, but they were very much one of the first on our list and an early booking. But it’s been worth the wait because we know there’s nothing quite like Electric Fields in Dumfries & Galloway.”

ELECTRIC FIELDS has a unique, unexplored home nestled in the idyllic setting of Drumlanrig Castle, South West Scotland. Organisers have worked tirelessly to put together a formidable line-up of musical talent at a ticket price that’s kind on the music-loving pocket. Organisers believe Electric Fields will be a hugely significant event both for Dumfries and Galloway and the Scottish music calendar.
