SPATE OF QUAD BIKE THEFTS CAUSE CONCERN

Second quad bike stolen – Stranraer

Police Scotland now report that they are investigating the theft of a second quad bike from the Stranraer are overnight Thursday 11/Friday 12 February 2016. This second one is a Honda 420 quad bike, red in colour, and was stolen from a farm at Leswalt. This quad is valued at around £5000.

Detective Constable Andy Santangeli at Straraer said “it appears that thieves have been busy on Thursday night/Friday morning in the Stranraer area. We want anyone who may have seen or heard anything suspicious to get in touch with us at Stranraer on the 101 number. We also want to hear from any farmers in the area who may have had unusual visitors to their farms over the past few weeks to get in touch. These thefts appear to be planned and it may be that the thieves have visited the farms on a previous occasion to check out the area.”

Earlier this week Police  reported that at sometime between 2100 hours on Friday 12 February and 0800 hours on Saturday 13 February 2016, a red Honda quad bike was stolen from a farm in Innermessan.

Police are continuing enquiries to trace the stolen vehicle. We would ask that anyone with information contact police at Stranraer via the 101 number.

We would ask those with agricultural vehicles to continue to be vigilant and to ensure that vehicles and property is secured at all times.
