Police Investigate Spate Of Quad Bike Thefts – Moffat

POLICE in Moffat are appealing for help for the second time this week after a quad bike was stolen from a farm just off the A701 south of the town overnight Tuesday 14/Wednesday 15 August 2018. The quad, a red coloured Yamaha 350 ATV Grizzly which was fitted with a winch was stolen from the farm overnight. The value of the quad is around £6000.

Constable Lee Barnfather said “following the theft of the caravan earlier this week we are now dealing with the theft of a quad bike in Moffat. Clearly thieves are on the prowl in the Moffat area and we are keen to hear from anyone who may have been on the A701 road south of the town on Tuesday night or early Wednesday morning. We want to hear about any suspicious vehicle movements in the area of Moffat. It is clear that some sort of reconnaissance is taking place before the thefts occur and we would welcome any information about suspicious vehicles or people in the area over the last week or so.
