SHEEP DEAD AFTER DOG ATTACK – WATERBECK

Police Scotland officers are appealing for witnesses in a case of sheep worrying on the farmlands at Nether Albie, Waterbeck.

On the morning of Friday 29 September 2017 the farmer at Nether Albie came across two sheep with serious injuries. One of the sheep had died and the second had to be put down by a vet. On examination it appears that the sheep were attacked by a dog or dogs.

Constable Rebecca McClung said “it appears from what we know that a dog or dogs have attacked the flock of sheep during the early hours of Friday 29 September 2017. A commotion was heard with the sheep at around 0230 hours. We are asking the local community to help us trace the dog(s) and the owner. The cost of the two sheep is in the region of £200. Anyone with any information which might help in this investigation is asked to call us at Lockerbie on the 101 number.
