Advance Warning Of Essential Maintenance On The A75 At Creetown

Amey, on behalf of Transport Scotland as part of the Network Management Contract for the South-West Trunk Road Unit, are undertaking essential maintenance on the A75 at Creetown from Monday 25th April until Saturday 21st May 2022, between the hours of 7pm and 6am, each night.

This is a significant scheme, with a value of almost £1million*, which represents a substantial investment in the trunk road network in Dumfries and Galloway, benefitting both local communities and the wider economy through an improved route to and from ports on the West Coast of Scotland. The resurfacing works will benefit around 5244 vehicles using this route each day and will improve safety and efficiency, as well as reducing overall maintenance costs.

The work will be carried out using the following traffic management:

  • Monday 25th April – Saturday 21st May (inclusive) – an overnight convoy between the hours of 7pm and 6am, each night. Temporary traffic lights will also be in place during the day to facilitate cooling of deeper sections of resurfacing treatment. The works are anticipated to be fully completed at 6am on Sunday 22nd May.

The Park Crescent junction with the A75 will be closed overnight Friday 6th to Monday 9th May when works are being carried out across this junction. Alternative access will be provided to Creetown via the Old Military Road.

Access for emergency service vehicles will be maintained throughout these works.

Our operatives will follow strict physical distancing and hygiene protocols throughout the programme, in line with the Scottish Government’s COVID-19 guidance.

Please note, all schemes are weather dependent and may be cancelled or rescheduled if weather conditions are not favourable.
