Road Maintenance On The A76 East Of New Cumnock (Overcairn Farm To West Of Polshill Bridge) Commences Monday 22nd August

Amey, on behalf of Transport Scotland, are undertaking essential road maintenance on the A76 between New Cumnock and Kirkconnel. Works will be from Overcairn Farm to west of Polshill Bridge, from Monday 22nd August until Tuesday 6th September 2022.

The work, with a value of £537,243, will benefit around 4,000 vehicles using this route each day by improving the condition of the road surface and reducing the need for more extensive maintenance in future.

Construction will be undertaken using a daytime convoy system, between 7am and 6pm each day with traffic management removed beyond these times. To complete the works, additional overnight temporary traffic management will also be in operation from 6pm on Monday 5th September until 6am on Tuesday 6th September.

All traffic management will be removed by 6am Tuesday 6th September 2022.

Our operatives follow strict physical distancing and hygiene protocols throughout the programme, in line with the current Scottish Government’s COVID-19 guidance.

Please note, all schemes are weather dependent and may be cancelled or rescheduled if weather conditions are not favourable.
