Temporary 20mph Speed Trials Introduced At Many Dumfries & Galloway Villages

DGWGO have received notification of several villages across the region that are having 20mph speed limits introduced for an 18 month trial period. Villages that we are aware of so far include Gelston, Twynholm, Auchencairn and Carrutherstown but we are guessing there will be many more included in the trial. 
 
GELSTON

Notice is hereby given that The Dumfries and Galloway Council has made an Order
under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

1. The general effect of the Traffic Regulation Order will be to impose a temporary
20mph speed limit on specified lengths of roads within the extents of the existing
30mph speed limit in Gelston as detailed within the confines indicated by a solid
black line on the plan below and in Schedule A.

2. The general effect of the Traffic Regulation Order will be to impose a temporary
30mph speed limit on specified lengths of roads within Gelston as indicated with
a solid red line on the plan below and in Schedule B.

3. The temporary speed limits are necessary to alleviate the likelihood of danger to
the public caused by the potential conflict and collision between vehicles, pedal
cycles and pedestrians on the roads stated by traffic travelling at speeds.
4. The temporary speed limits will be in force within Gelston from 00.00hrs, 18 July
2022 until 23.59hrs 17 January 2024 (18 months).

Gelston
CARRUTHERSTOWN

Notice is hereby given that The Dumfries and Galloway Council has made an Order
under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

1.   The general effect of the Traffic Regulation Order will be to impose a temporary 20mph speed
limit on specified lengths of roads within the extents of the existing 30mph speed limit in
Carrutherstown as detailed within the confines indicated by a solid black line on the plan below
and in Schedule A.

2.   The temporary speed limit is necessary to alleviate the likelihood of danger to the public
caused  by  the  potential  conflict  and  collision  between  vehicles,  pedal cycles and
pedestrians on the roads stated by traffic travelling at speeds.

Carrutherstown

3.   The  temporary  20mph  speed  limit  will  be  in  force  within  Carrutherstown  from
00.00hrs, 25 July 2022 until 23.59hrs, 24 January 2024 (18 months).

TWYNHOLM

Notice is hereby given that The Dumfries and Galloway Council has made an Order
under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

1. The general effect of the Traffic Regulation Order will be to impose a temporary
20mph speed limit on specified lengths of roads within the extents of the existing
30mph speed limit in Twynholm as detailed within the confines indicated by a
solid black line on the plan below and in Schedule A.

2. The temporary speed limit is necessary to alleviate the likelihood of danger to the
public caused by the potential conflict and collision between vehicles, pedal
cycles and pedestrians on the roads stated by traffic travelling at speeds.

3. The temporary 20mph speed limit will be in force within Twynholm from 00.00hrs,
18 July 2022 until 23.59hrs 17 January 2024 (18 months).

AUCHENCAIRN

Notice is hereby given that The Dumfries and Galloway Council has made an Order
under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

1. The general effect of the Traffic Regulation Order will be to impose a temporary
20mph speed limit on specified lengths of roads within the extents of the existing
30mph speed limit in Auchencairn as detailed within the confines indicated by a
solid black line on the plan below and in Schedule A.

2. The general effect of the Traffic Regulation Order will be to impose a temporary
40mph speed limit on specified lengths of roads within Auchencairn as indicated
with a solid red line on the plan below and in Schedule B.

3. The temporary speed limit is necessary to alleviate the likelihood of danger to the
public caused by the potential conflict and collision between vehicles, pedal
cycles and pedestrians on the roads stated by traffic travelling at speeds.

4. The temporary speed limits will be in force within Auchencairn from 00.00hrs, 25
July 2022 until 23.59hrs, 24 January 2024 (18 months).
