91 Entrants Take part in Moffat Mountain Rescue Charity Challenge

  Moffat Mountain Rescue Team held the annual Charity Challenge event in the hills above  Durisdeer on Sunday the 12th of June. A successful day with 91 entrants has already raised over £1500 towards Moffat  Mountain Rescue Team with still more sponsorship to come in over the next few weeks.       After laying out the courses on Saturday while also providing safety cover for the Durisdeer  Fell Race all was set for Sunday. the only concern was whether the rain would stay away.    Sunday dawned with cloudy skies and the remnants of the previous night's rain clearing  away.     Soon the days walkers started arriving with walk 4 walkers bussed round to their start at  Daer Reservoir. by 1100 all the walkers were on the hills with low cloud moving round giving  sporadic views from the hill tops.    A record entry for walk 1 saw children and parents enjoying a fantastic walk to the Roman  Road from Durisdeer.  ...
