Brenda Buckley is a resident at Fleet Valley Care Home, Gatehouse of Fleet. Whilst watching tv, Brenda was horrified to see the plight of the children at the orphanage in Dnipro having to leave their orphanage by coach helped by the volunteers from the Hibs football charity – Dnipro Kids.
Brenda Said “I have been in contact with Steve Carr from the Dnipro Kids charity, and he has told me of how the children have moved by coach to Poland, will fly to the UK and travel to Scotland as soon as possible.
I thought it would be a good idea if people could donate to this so I am organised a sponsored walk, a beard trim and a raffle. I am hoping as many people as possible will take part and donate so we can raise plenty of money for these children as they come to Scotland to start their new life, I will share more information in the days going forward via Fleet Valley Newsletter and Facebook page.
Last Sunday some of the carers did the walk because they are working this weekend.
