Inaugral Awarding Wigtownshire Event A Huge Success

Stranraer Community Events Group held the first ever Awarding Wigtownshire on Saturday 11 June 2022 on the ice rink at the North West Castle Hotel.

The event was to celebrate the outstanding achievements of individuals, businesses, charities and community groups across Wigtownshire. Attended by 396 people, it was an overwhelming success.

Shaun Smith, Events Co Ordinator said “For years I have dreamed of an event like this locally, the Wigtownshire talent is incredible and it’s about time it is recognised. To see so much talent under one roof celebrating our area was just phenomenal, and I would like to thank everyone who made this event such a success! Roll on AW 2023”.
