MP Briefed On Sands Charity Progress

LOSING a child before, during or after birth can devastate parents. But thankfully a charity has in recent years been active in Dumfries and Galloway offering insightful support and understanding to those who have been bereaved.

A regional branch of Sands (Stillbirth and Neonatal Death Society) has been giving friendship, guidance and provided a gateway to a range of professional services to those going through this sad and difficult period in their lives.

They also raise funds for research to help reduce the number of babies losing their lives.

Dumfriesshire, Clydesdale and Tweeddale MP David Mundell this week met with Alison Hall, BEM, of Dumfries, a founder member of the local group, to catch up on the latest branch news.

He took the opportunity to present the group with an £125 donation from the charity funds he raises regularly through taking part in political and general issue research surveys.
