The Rotary Club of Dumfries Devorgilla are pleased to announce they will be opening a Charity Pop – Up Shop from 25th to 27th November in the Loreburne Centre, Dumfries.
The Pop – Up will be open from 25th to 27th November and located in the former Body Shop across from Marks and Spencers. Customers will be able to purchase a range of new and pre-loved items on offer, including dvd’s, books and bric-a-brac and the chance for some real bargains that you can no longer get on the High Street.
The shop will be entirely for Charity and manned by volunteers from Devorgilla Rotary and is the second year the Pop – Up Shop has been open. Our Service and Environment Convenor Charles Milroy said “We are really excited to open the shop and given the opportunity for which we are really grateful for the assistance of the new owners of the Loreburne Centre and Michael O’Hagan. The Pop – Up will be a great way to raise money with ever purchase made going to local charities and youth organisations including Cash for Kids. Last year we were able to raise an amazing £4,500 and we are therefore delighted to have been given this empty property again by the Loreburne Centre in a prime location and hope we can further benefit local causes”.
Club President Mike Harris said “We hope to encourage shopping locally and emphasise the importance of supporting our local businesses and shops. We are really looking forward to working with the Loreburne Centre and show the importance of community spirit encouraging people to come out and support their town centre”.
The Charity Pop – Shop will be set up from the 24th November and any donations for items for sale will be gratefully received then at the shop. There will also be a Tombola with great prizes on offer every day. Please follow our progress on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. Search for @DumfriesDevorgilla.
