THOUSANDS OF POUNDS WORTH OF DAMAGE CAUSED BY SUSPICIOUS FIRE – DUMFRIES

Police Scotland is investigating a suspicious fire which was discovered at around 0100 hours on Thursday 2 June 2016 at a temporary works compound in Glenkiln Place in Dumfries.  On arrival of the Fire and Rescue Service it was found that a number of wooden pallets had been set on fire next to a steel container.  The fire was extinguished but not before considerable damage had been caused to the container and contents.

 Constable Bryan Bruton at Dumfries said “we are treating this as a deliberate criminal act and the damage caused is likely to run into thousands of pounds.  We ask anyone who may know anything about this fire to get in touch with us through the 101 number here at Dumfries.
