Big Burns Supper Postponed Until Summer

Organisers of the ‘Big Burns Supper’ Fesival held in Dumfries regret to inform you that the spread of the most recent covid variant means they have had to make the very difficult decision to postpone the festival which was due to take place from the 14th – 30th January 2022.

A Spokes person for the festival stated As part of our contingency plans:

• We will present a free Burns Night show will be broadcast on 25th January with Eddi Reader and lots of special guests at 7pm on our Facebook and YouTube channels. We will be sending more information about this in the New Year.

• A new summer edition of the festival will run from the 10th – 26th June at the Loreburn Hall in Dumfries. (* TBC in the coming weeks)

• The majority of our shows will be rescheduled, where possible and customers will be offered the chance to exchange their tickets or ask for a refund.

• We will be writing to customers to let them know how their show is being rescheduled as soon as possible.

We take the responsibility of public health and safety seriously, and despite the obvious benefits the festival brings to our well-being, it would be impossible for us to deliver an event as large as Big Burns Supper without compromising the quality of the festival.

We are hugely grateful to our partners who have been incredibly supportive of this decision, but equally our artists and suppliers who have been working with our team to reschedule our entire festival.

Thanks to generous support from our colleagues at Dumfries & Galloway Council who have enabled us to activate our Plan B at the Loreburn Hall which we expect to announce by February. We will be writing to you in the New Year to let you know if your show is being rescheduled as part of our Summer Festival.

We understand that you may just like an immediate refund, and we would like to do this for you as quickly as we possibly can. Please click this link if you would like us to process a refund. Please note that because we are closed for Christmas until 3rd January, and this may affect transaction times.
