DUMFRIES OFFERS MORE FREE ENTERTAINMENT ‘IN OUR TOWN’

Award-winning 16-year-old nu-folk singer songwriter and musician, Zoë Bestel, is the next act to entertain summer revellers on the In Our Town Programme of free family events.

Since picking up the ukulele in January 2011 at the age of just 13, Zoë has won admiration from the press and public and has garnered a strong fan-base throughout the region.
As well as being a popular festival act, Zoë has supported internationally acclaimed folk musicians including: multi award-winning Emily Smith, Steve Tilsten, Steve Hicks and Lynn Gouldbourn, the highly acclaimed Paul McKenna Band, The PeatBog Faeries and Emma’s Imagination.
Zoë Bestel will sing in Dock Park, Dumfries, on Saturday at 1pm and 3pm.

1 a 1 a in our town 9At the same time, the llow Door Gallery artists will be holding art demonstrations on the High Street on Saturday from 11am to 2pm. Comic artist Mark Toner will be out and about turning shoppers into comic book characters on his sketch pad.

On Sunday, weather willing, Spinning Jenny will be holding her fun, interactive circus workshops on the Plainstanes from noon to 4pm.

And next weekend sees the exciting 7Stanes display team in Dock Park. Check back later for more details.
