Dumfries To Celebrate Bonfire Night 2017 With A Bang

The Rotary Club of Dumfries Devorgilla are again organising a FREE public fireworks display for Dumfries in partnership with the People’s Project to be held at 6pm on Sunday 5 November on the Mill Green / Whitesands, Dumfries.

This is a free community event and will be the only large organised public firework display in the Dumfries area.

The Event is being organised in a partnership for the second year running with the Rotary Club of Dumfries Devorgilla and the People’s Project along with West Sound Cash for Kids. It is hoped the event will attract a large number of people on the Whitesands to come along and enjoy a truly high quality professional display, which is free of the risks of “fireworks in the back garden”.

The event will also be supported by many local businesses providing backing and assistance to allow such a major event to take place. Entry to the event will be free and a ‘bucket’ collection will be made by the Rotary Club with all proceeds going to support the Cash for Kids charity and other local good causes. Last year over £3000 was donated to Cash for Kids.

Rotary Service Convenor Alistair Bremner says “At least 3,000 people attended last year and it is hoped a similarly large number of locals will come along this year to see an excellent fireworks display and a truly community event organized by and supported by the community.”
