The team at Owen Farm Services are very excited to announce a collaboration with Wallets RPS. On sale days we will be based at Wallets Mart, Castle Douglas to provide IACS support and consultancy. For any rural support, please come and visit us. – We can be found in the main office at the Mart.
Dairy Expo
Owen Farm Service will be attending the Borderway UK Dairy Expo on the 12th of March at Carlisle Market.
We are excited to be back at shows and events.

5|Agri
Owen Farm Services are members of the 5|Agri group.
5|Agri are an alliance of agricultural consultants, who are a group of like-minded people with over 100 years of consultancy and advisory experience between them. These members of 5|Agri are based regionally so can cover a wide part of the UK. The cofounders of 5|Agri were also involved in the creation of the platform tool Agri Ignite. This was established with the aim to help farmers become more efficient through the employment of technology. Currently 5|Agri are working with AHDB to provide Farm Business Reviews for farmers in England. These reviews, funded by DEFRA are to help farmers understand the Basic Payment Scheme changes.

AHDB Webinar
For those who missed this online webinar, there is another opportunity to watch “AHDB Dairy: Potstown Strategic Dairy Farm Launch” though following the link below.
This webinar was created to celebrate the launch of AHDB’s new, all year round calving, Scottish Strategic Dairy Farm located at Potstown farm (where our office is based).
In this webinar, Gareth and David Owen offer a virtual tour of their farm and provide an overview of its background, operations and the team involved. Included within this video is an insight into the farm’s technical performance against the optimal dairy system Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) and details about their long-term vision for the business.
Gareth and David also take a critical look at the areas that have been identified for improvement over the next few years.
These include exploring expansion opportunities and maximising the cow and heifer performance by looking at:
• Youngstock housing
• Calf Health
• Improving fertility
• Improving mobility within the herd
• Maximising the use of genetics
• Maximising forage

Agri-Environment Climate Scheme (AECS)
The AECS application window is already open for applications. Deadline for this scheme is Friday 29 April 2022. To discuss options or whether this scheme can apply for your farm please get in touch and we can help with your application.
