WEEKLY PRIMESTOCK SALE
Could we please ask that Vendors get sheep to the Market as early as possible on a Tuesday morning. Clipping is from 8.00am onwards and we would like if sheep were available for them to start at that time.
Wallets Marts Castle Douglas Limited held their weekly sale of 2370 prime lambs and cast sheep on Tuesday 15th December 2015.
1813 prime lambs sold to average 151.38 (SQQ 152.43). All classes of lambs were similar to Monday’s trade and also the trade that was seen at the end of the last week.
Lambs today sold to top £80 for 3 heavyweight Texel lambs from Miss Calli Fisher, Flathill, Dundrennan. Top price per kilo was for a pen of Beltex from Messrs Craig, Compstonend at 188.5.
557 cast sheep sold to a similar rate to a top of £116 for a Texel ram from Lennox Plunton. Ewes to a top of £90 for Texels from Kelloside and Blackface ewes to £65 from Arndarroch.
