TWO LOCAL PEOPLE NAMED AS VICTIMS OF NEWTON STEWART COLLISION

Police have released the names of a local man and a woman who have both died following a crash between two cars on the A75 near Newton Stewart, Dumfries and Galloway on Saturday 6 May 2017.

Paul McCleary (36) of Race Green Avenue, Newton Stewart. Mr McCleary was the driver of the Suzuki Grand Vitara. ( Pictured)

Elizabeth Walton (77) from McDowall Drive, Stranraer, was a rear seat passenger in the Vauxhall Meriva.

Relatives are aware. Our thoughts and prayers are with them all.

A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

Two men aged 81 and 72 years, and a 70 year old woman remain in local hospitals for treatment. All are still described by medical staff as stable.

Enquiries into the road crash are continuing.
