Black Day As Stewartry See Their Biggest Ever Home League Defeat in 48 Years

Stewartry suffered their biggest ever league defeat at home in their 48 year history.

 

STEWARTRY 0 pts EAST KILBRIDE 48pts.

 

East Kilbride completed this seasons league double over the Blacks with an eight try thumping to nil at wind swept Greenlaw.

Stewartry had the wind advantage in the first half but failed to utilise it as East Kilbride battled up the slope into the wind.

E K broke from their own half to open the scoring in ten minutes the conversion added 7-0.

Stewartry battled hard throughout the first half but EK scored a second try two minutes before half time 12-0.

In the second half EK used the up and under ploy to make big strides into the Stewartry half scoring a third try in 48 minutes and the bonus fourth two minutes later. 24-0. Six minutes later it was 31-0 a delicate chip over the top was followed by try number six again at the posts 38-0.

With ten minutes to go the try of the game was scored out wide in the corner 43-0.  Four minutes to go it was try number eight again out in the

corner 48-0.

The Stewartry had not played for six weeks and it showed against fourth placed EK who had played the previous week scoring 43 points at Helensburgh.

This week Stewartry are away to Greenock with a 3.00pm ko. Next home game v Cambuslang March 31st ko 3.00pm
