International Cap for Kirkcudbright Walking Football Player

Saints Walking Football founder member and Women’s Coach Cinday Halliday has received news that she has been selected for the Scottish International Mixed Walking Football team.

This is the first ever Walking Football International team to have represented Scotland. The team will compete in an eight-team tournament in Nyon, Switzerland, in June.

Cinday is used to playing at high level; she is a regular member of the Regional Team.

She said, ” I am so excited at receiving this honour. It is good for women’s football and it is good for Saints. We are a small club but we frequently punch above our weight.

St. Cuthbert Wanderers Chairman, Ian McIntyre said ” I am absolutely thrilled for Cinday. Her fitness and enthusiasm for the game shines through. She is a wonderful ambassador for the club and we will be following the tournament carefully. Cinday is the first player from a Dumfries and Galloway Walking Football Club to be capped and, I think, the first player from Saints to represent the club at International level.”
