£16000 CARAVAN STOLEN – STRANRAER

Police Scotland is investigating the theft of a caravan which was parked in a car park on Market Street, Stranraer.

The Hobby 660 VIP caravan was stolen sometime between 0100 hours and 0200 hours on Wednesday 20th December 2017.

The caravan is 24 foot long, white in colour with a grey band along the nearside and is valued around £16000.

Officers have been checking CCTV as well as speaking to people in the area, however they are now looking to the media and the public to help with their enquiries.

Detective Constable Alistair Rowan, Stranraer Police Office, said:

“This has clearly been a planned theft as a considerable amount of security has been overcome to be able to access the tow bar, attach it to a vehicle, and tow it away.
“The incident has happened near a busy part of the town where there are shops and lots of people coming and going. Were you in the area on Wednesday? Did you see a caravan matching the description?
We want to hear from anyone who may have information, or who saw anyone towing a caravan nearby.”

Anyone with any information should contact Stranraer Police Office via 101 or alternatively you can contact CRIMESTOPPERS on 0800 555 111.
