POLICE Detectives are appealing for information following a serious assault in Lochmaben, Dumfries and Galloway.
Around 4.35am on Thursday, 12 March, 2026, officers were called to a report of a 40-year-old man seriously injured at a property in Stanedyke Crescent after he was assaulted in the Wallace Court area.
Emergency services attended and the man was taken to Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary for treatment to serious injuries.
A 50-year-old man was traced at an address nearby and arrested in connection.
Enquiries are ongoing.
Detective Inspector Scott Wilson said: “I would appeal to anyone who was in the area at the time and may have witnessed what happened to please contact us with any information.
“I would also ask drivers with dash-cams to check footage as this may assist in our enquiries. Likewise, anyone with private CCTV around this area is asked to get in touch.”
