53 Year Old Woman Seriously Injured When Hit By Car – Dumfries

A 53 year old female pedestrian has been seriously injured when she was hit by a car in Dumfries Yesterday. Police report that at about 3.57pm on Wednesday 17 July 2019 a road traffic collision happened at the junction of Munches Street and Loreburn Street in Dumfries involving a car and a pedestrian.

A blue coloured Vauxhall Corsa car driven by a 56 year old woman from Dumfries was in collision with a 53 year old female pedestrian from Dumfries. As a result the female pedestrian was taken to Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary with a serious head injury, where she remains at this time. The road was closed to allow a full crash scene investigation to be carried out.

Constable Callum Ruddick said “We know from CCTV in the area that there were a number of people in the vicinity at the time of this collision and I am appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this collision to call us on the 101 number, quoting the reference number 2480 17/7.”
