Police Scotland have now named the man who died as a result of a road traffic collision on Saturday 1 October 2016 on the A712 near Newton Stewart as 74 year old Ronald Barret from Weatherfield Court in Lancaster.
Mr Barret died in the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow on Monday 3 October 2016. Enquiries into the cause of the crash are ongoing.
