Police Scotland is seeking witnesses to an assault which took place on The Whitesands in Dumfries at around 1320 hours on Monday 25 July 2016. At that time a 64 year old man was assaulted near to the bus stances. He was assaulted and knocked to the ground, however was not injured in the attack.
Constable Gary Bil at Dumfries said “it appears that the victim was attacked by a man who was in a group of four people, three males and a female. Whilst he was not injured in this attack he was extremely shaken and we would like to hear from anyone who saw this incident. Witnesses can call using the 101 number. There are no descriptions of those in the group or of the attacker at ths stage.
