A Body has been found after a massive multi emergency service search for a missing Doctor from Dumfries and Galloway had been carried out over the last few days. Police report on their social media that at around 11 o’clock this morning, Tuesday 25th September 2018, officers searching for the missing man, Doctor George (Alex) Porteous found the body of a man in woodland near to Beeswing.
The body has now been identified as that of Doctor Porteous and his family have been informed of this development. There are no suspicious circumstances and a report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal.
A police spokesperson stated “Our thoughts are with the friends and family of Alex at this time and we also want to take the opportunity to thank the public for their assistance during this search, your shares and obvious concerns have not gone unnoticed.”
