POLICE APPEAL TO DRIVER OF RED CAR INVOLVED IN COLLISION WITH CHILD CYCLIST

POLICE in Dumfries are appealing for witnesses after a 10-year-old boy was involved in a collision with a red car while cycling to school. The incident happened around 8:30 am yesterday (Monday 10th) on Georgetown Road in Dumfries.

A Police spokesperson stated “The driver of the red car, which is described as a people carrier type vehicle, stopped at the scene and spoke to a witness however left before her details were obtained. She is described as Eastern European appearance, mid 30’s, Short, brown hair, wearing Black trousers.
The 10 year old boy was taken to hospital for a check up and later discharged with some minor bruising.”

Anyone who witnesses the collision or knows the identify of the driver of the red car is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101 quoting incident 2034 of 10/06/2019
