CID Investigate Gretna Spar Robbery

POLICE SCOTLAND Detectives are continuing to investigate a robbery which occurred at the Spar store in Central Avenue, Gretna, Dumfries and Galloway at around 9.35 pm on Tuesday the 24th September 2019.

The suspect who is described as a man around 6ft tall, skinny build, wearing a blue hoodie, black scarf with a white line and grey trainers with red laces fled the store after stealing a small quantity of cash.

Detective Inspector Dean Little from Dumfries CID who is leading the investigation stated “This is a worrying incident which is extremely unusual for the town of Gretna. Whilst nobody was hurt, it has clearly left the staff working in the store at the time extremely shaken. I currently have a team of detectives working on this investigation and CCTV is in the process of being gathered and reviewed.
In order to assist with the investigation I would be extremely keen to hear from anybody who was in the area at the time or who knows the identity of the person responsible.
