Sunday the 21st of June 2015 saw the unveiling of something very special indeed for the whole of the Dumfries and Galloway region , a 55 acre land art sculpture the ‘Crawick Multiverse’, this major land restoration project, on the Duke of Buccleuch’s Queensberry Estate at Sanquhar which has transformed a former open cast coal mine into a spectacular artland and public amenity.
Approximately 2,000 boulders found at the site itself have been used to create the Crawick Multiverse. Its a amazing place and team DGWGO were there today to witness a brilliant living art performance that took place to celebrate the launch of this dramatic and hauntingly beautiful place .
Privately funded by the Duke of Buccleuch and designed by globally-renowned landscape artist Charles Jencks, Crawick Multiverse is a stunning representation of exciting discoveries and theories of the universe.
